Mother Nature doesn’t seem to care that we are experiencing a pandemic. Gorgeous flowers are blooming outside while we are staying at home. Marine Park is your home park and we are allowed to take walks and runs when staying at home — just be sure to keep your distance from everyone else. As a matter of fact, the Parks Department took down all basketball hoops and tennis nets to discourage groups of people passing balls and germs to each other.
Venture out to see the pink blossoms on the old cherry trees along Avenue U and the young cherry trees along Stuart Avenue. Yellow daffodils along fence lines and entrances are signaling better weather ahead. If you can get outside, send us your photos at info@marineparkalliance.org. We’d love to see the park through your eyes.
I’ll try to keep you posted on all good things happening in and around the park during these difficult times.
Stay well and safe,
Maria D’Alessandro
