The two main buildings within the park are the Salt Marsh Nature Center and the Carmine Carro Community Center, both of which host numerous recreational and community activities. The outdoor facilities provide courts and fields for an array of sports that Parks Department lists on their website.
There are three main sections to the entire park: Marine Park proper, Gerritsen Beach proper, and the golf course and adjoining salt marsh and uplands.
Marine Park proper, which shares the name of its surrounding neighborhood, is located north of Avenue U and includes two baseball fields, 11 softball fields, 10 soccer fields, two football fields, four cricket fields, 15 tennis courts, 10 handball courts, 10 basketball courts, and three bocce courts. It also features a playground with spray showers, fitness equipment, three rose gardens, two parking lots, a bike rental concession, a seniors' community center, and a .8 mile oval track for bicycles, walkers and runners.
Gerritsen Beach proper, which also shares the name of its surrounding neighborhood, is located west of Burnett Street and includes 7 ball fields, two soccer fields, six handball courts, and four basketball courts. It also offers a model airplane field, a skate park, two playgrounds with spray showers, and a comfort station.
The 18-hole Marine Park Golf Course and adjoining salt marsh and uplands. This section of the park is located west of Flatbush Avenue and includes an 18-hole golf course and events building, a playground with spray showers, two baseball fields, four handball courts, four basketball courts, a one-mile nature trail, a Nature Center and Ranger Station, bike path, and kayak launch.
Marine Park offers three comfort stations for visitors at the Carro Center, Nature Center and Seba Playground, all of which feature ADA-compliant and handicapped-accesible bathrooms. There is also a public bathroom available at the Marine Park Golf Course. Download our map for their locations.
